Hello! My name is Brenton.
I write lots of things but mostly, children's books.
I wrote my first story when I was six.
I submitted books to publishers when I was nine.
When I was 11, I began having short stories, poems, and articles published in magazines, newspapers and anthologies.
I've been writing ever since!
Now, I'm 29 - and my first two books will be published this year, in 2026.
I live in Queensland, between the bush and the beach, in a little house called The Book Burrow with my partner, a quartet of fish named The Supremes, five terrariums, eight house plants (each with names and personalities) and an overflowing picture book collection. We love dogs (but sadly don't have one yet). One day, we will have about twenty dogs, I think!
When I am not writing stories, I work in a bookshop, review books, interview other authors, and write articles.
FIVE QUICK FACTS ABOUT ME!
1. I grew up on a farm.
2. In Grade 6, I broke my left arm.
3. I went to Japan when I was 16.
4. I own over 2,000 books - and they barely fit inside my house anymore!
5. My favourite children's author is Emily Rodda.

Want to see where I write my books?
Here is my writing space ....
I am lucky to have my own little room in our place where I write.
It is cosy and absolutely stuffed with books and papers and all the knick-knacks and special mementoes that make me happy.
There are five bookshelves chock-a-block with nonfiction books, my favourite childhood books and, best of all, my collection of inspiring writing 'how-to' guides.
I even have my trusty typewriter!
